Let go of yesterday, be it stuff or something else.
What I am reading now: Mockingjay
Read Hunger Games and Catching Fire 2 Christmases ago, but I never got to finish this one. I had other (more important) things to read at that time, like USMLE books. Boo! After I finish this, I plan to read the first 2 books again, before watching the movie. Or… maybe I should read Hunger Games again first? Hmm… now that’s a thought. Ok, I will load the other 2 books in my Kindle now. ;)
Chomp Chomp #1: Longhorn Steakhouse
Last week, my friends from Connecticut drove to NY to attend a baby shower at Staten Island. And since they are so near me already, we arranged a little get together for dinner. It has been snowing for a few days that week, and all we needed was a warm slab of meat on a cold night.

When we got there, I seemed like everybody was craving for some steak! The place was packed and there was like around 20+ people in the queue waiting to be seated. We called in earlier to put our name on the list, but we were still asked to wait around 20-25 mins, which actually took 45mins!
We started with some drinks, and since my guy friend was the DD (designated driver), and it was still a long drive back to CT, he wasn’t allowed to have any alcohol. I ordered a Strawberry Margarita, and God, it was good! You can still taste the Tequila in it, but it was bursting with strawberry flavor! A single order is good for more than 2 margarita glasses!

Strawberry Margarita - Cuervo Gold® tequila, Patrón Citrónge®, real strawberries (around $8.00)
We also ordered Spinach and Artichoke Dip - a creamy blend of spinach and artichoke in melted provolone, served with warm tortilla chips, for appetizer. I seldom eat spinach, since it is not commonly cooked back home, but I loved it. Everything is totally better with cheese! I will definitely try cooking this when I get home. I hope all the ingredients are available. I wasn’t able to take a picture of it anymore, we were so hungry from all the waiting!
For dinner, I ordered 6oz. Mushroom Bordelaise-Topped Sirloin in Cabernet wine sauce ($11.99). It was definitely what I needed, my steak fix. I always have my steaks well done, and it was perfect. With it, I got sides of Caesar salad and mashed potato. After I devoured everything on my plate, I thought that was it. But they weren’t done. We moved to dessert - Chocolate Stampede - moist peaks of chocolate cake layered with six types of chocolate and served with vanilla bean ice cream ($7.29).
Everything was extremely dee-lish! But of course, nothing beats being with old friends, reminiscing the past, and just having a good time!
